I read through the other opinions here and decided to add my own. Saw that the average product rating was just two stars. Do not understand how this nice movie can be rated so low. This is probably a reflection of the different types of audience and their expectations - I personally found this movie to be excellent and one of the best ones that I have seen in a long time.

I saw this on Saturday night at Madhuban theatre in Dombivli - the (balcony) ticket rate was Rs. 50. There were some free seats remaining, I think a reflection of the state of cinema these days.

The story starts of well and engrosses you throughout. Other reviewers have already gone through the story so I am not repeating the story again. But would rather focus on the mood.

There was a scene of Amitabh, when he makes fun of a romancing Anil Kapoor and Gracy Singh. The whole theatre is laughing. In another scene when Amitabh is carrying a accident-victim child and suffers a heart attack, the anxious audience are at the end of their seats and I can hear spontaneous claps from members of the audience really appreciating Amitabh's acting. Not heard such claps for a really long long time. Remeniscent of the good old days of Hindi cinema!

When I came out of the hall in the interval, my mind was full of Amitabh - his acting, the emotions and I realised that I had not felt like this for a long time. It was indeed a long time since a movie had affected me thus.

And after the break, it is hats off to Priety Zinta. She fills the whole frame with life with her negative character. Beautifully done. Cannot be done better by anyone else.

I could not believe the speed in which the hours had slipped by. Three hours. One of the fastest time-pass in recent times for an Indian film.

Not to say that there are no dull moments. And some slips from the director. But they are few and not bad or distracting. I think the director is entitled to that much allowance. Every film has flaws.

As I went home that night, my mind was filled with Priety Zinta's character. Not that I was sorry for her..., but just that she was so engrossing. I went to sleep thinking about this.

Surprise, next day also the film was heavily in my mind. But this time, it was Gracy Singh who was at the forefront, not Priety. Maybe that is the manifestation of immediate Vs Retrospective effects. Her emoting, her grace...all this were standing out.

I am predicting a best supporting actor award for Amitabh and a best supporting actress award to Priety Zinta for their roles. And a best director award for Honey Irani. Along with other technical awards.
