A movie about an angry young man, potrayed by Sunny deol. A role that was compared to AMitabh's in zanjeer. Sunny comes off of it as a real dasher. He just took the industry by storm since Betaab in 1983.
In 1985 Rahul Rawail directed sunny in the movie as a silent rebel who fought against powerful politicans and injustice. Sunny made a big impact in his career, this was his turning point movie, he established himself as an action hero and a serious actor. The movie was directed piece by piece and it was a big success.
The biggest subject that this film took on itself was the unrest amongst youth in India during that time. This movie appealed with lot of middle and low class grads.
The music by RD burman gave it a glossy touch to this film, the background scores reminded me of typical 80s. Songs were a little corny but by the time movie proggress u wouldn't mind fast forwarding it.
After Betaab sunny was really struggling to make a huge comeback, well he did with this movie in just two years. THis movie along with Ghayal and Damini gives sunny a real good portfolio of his acting career. He is definetly a hero that no one will forget.
In this movie there were some other good supporting ca, Anupam Kher and Prem Chopra are playing the politicans, and annu kapoor and paresh rawal play as dalal's of this politcians. Annu Kapoor steals the comedy part from paresh, sort of dark humor though. Ak hangal does his job a helpless father of Sunny.
Sunny is also cast together by his screen freinds, two of them particulary made their career by just being friends of heroes in other movies.
This movie a must for any fan of sunny deol. Arjun depicts the harsh reality and social injustice that goes on still to this date in India.
