The truth behind Arena. Review on Arena Multimedia, Andheri, Mumbai

Recently, there has been some reviews about Arena Multimedia. Though I agree whole heartedly with both the Msers, I will be a SOB and write a review of my own.

The concept of Computer classes itself is very new to India. They themselves have started some ten years ago in India. So, it can be said that they are still kids.

However, this is how Computer Classes work.

Any Computer teaching Institure (CTI) firsts starts a head office, and the main branch, which is owned and run directly by the CTI. The faculty, the administration, even whether the students are getting water or not during the breaks, is seen to by the Center head. ( Eg: Aptech, Andheri. )

Then, there are franchisees. Example, Aptech sees that CTIing in Borivli is very feasible and profitible, but it doesnt want to burn it's fingers in an alien area. So, it gives out a franchisee to a third party.

And this is where everything just collapses.

From here, it is the show of the franchisee, how it teaches and treats the students, what amount of money they are ready to pay to the teachers. What perks are to be given to the students, whether the students are to be given the notes or not., etc.

It depends on the franchisee whether it wants to run an educational institute or whether it wants to run a minting money factory.

This is one of the reasons that these CTIs ask for fees first, or follow stringent fees structures, because the head honcho, is always calling up about the fees.

In fact, some franchisees are so pathetic, that the front office doesnt know which course a student is pursuing, or which software he or she is learning, but will most certainly know in which month he joined in and how much of his fees is still left.

Due to the illiteracy of the Franchisees, a new fashion has started out:

Students pursuing a higher course, for example Gaming, and students pursuing a lower course, for example, Graphics for Advertising, will have a same software, ie Adobe PhotoShop.

These students are herded together and taught together for a period of three months and their batches are just changed!

This mind plays with the students of the higher course, and doesnt let them settle down in one course or one batch.

There are some specific and royal cases where neither the Center counselor, the faculty, or even the main faculty know what a student is doing in the Center. They just know that he or she has this software batch at this time.

I agree with the other point of view, that one has to be on toes to ask questions and be dedicated to succeed anywhere.

But I also think that these CTIs with such a reputation and after taking such a huge amount of money, should have some sense of responsibililty towards the students.

They are the reason that CTIs nowadays have just three kind of students:

Housewives.

Bored children of rich families ( I myself have met ten)

And a small percentage of sincere students.

When the upper two categories do not turn up for their courses due to lack of interest and strictness on both sides, it is the third percent that suffers.

It is sad state at that time and nobody can actually be sincere in such an scenario.
