Recently in my town two'chain' restaurants have shut down. Hardee's and Shoney's. They both had been around for several years but all of a sudden they close down.
I can see why Hardee's did, though. The restaurant had the windows tinted so it always looked closed so I suppose no one went to it.
There also was a restaurant, Bojangle's, that closed down abruptly, as well. Although I am not sure if it is considered a chain restaurant because I have not seen another Bojangle's elsewhere.
Friendly's came to town only a few years ago but the service has dropped tremendously and I'm thinking they may close as well.
The food at all places were quite good but the service at both Hardee's and Bojangle's went down for a long time and never got back up to being good.
Bottom line, big chain restaurants such as Apple Bee's, T.G.I.Friday's and Outback Steakhouse will always make it, but smaller chains may not do so well if there are other larger, more popular competition!
