This fragrance is very elegant. It has a nice strength and richness. I don't know about the voting of notes above, but overall this is a Gardenia bomb.
The other ingredients accentuate and support it. If you smell gardenias at the garden center you will know - the wilting flowers though, since they smell less sweet and more sour. This could also have an overdose of bergamot. Maybe it is a bergamot bomb.
It seems very bergamot/citrusy oily right off, then waxy, then a heady white floral, a spicyness cinnamon-like underneath and then there is some dry roughness in it too underneath.Nice rich scent, almost orangy smelling like someone noted, sour,
Heady floral, very rich, pleasant. When I first tried it, it had this really odd waxy smell, but was intriguing to me. Second time I tried it yesterday, and I got that intriguing waxy bitter sour floral smell and also a dry roughened smell behind it, like sniffing along a full leaf of dried tobacco, or a dried up leather. I know it is probably patchouli, but that is the feeling it gives me, rough dry leafy.
Very intriguing and fills my senses. I feel like I smelt this decades ago, which is entirely possible. Smells real nice. Elegant, refined, but unrefined. I like it's strength too, it is perfect.I always felt Aramis was a stuffy old man's cologne and I never gave it a second thought. This weekend I was in the men's room at a club and the attendant had a poor selection of fragrances on display.
Aramis was the only one with some integrity so I gave it a spray.and was impressed! How did I overlook this over the years? Its herbally, woody, clean and very very masculine. On my next visit to the men's room I double sprayed myself. I find it very complex with a lot going on.a very interesting well blended mix. Projection and longevity is off the charts too, it stayed with me all night. Next time I'm in the market for cologne, this will be on my list. Thumbs up.
