This review isnt about the one or two litre bottles you can buy anywhere. They are good too and come in handy when we go on a trip or something but am mainly writing about the 25 litre cans that you use for home or office purposes.
We came to Chennai sometime in 2005. When we were setting up house and getting all the things we would need, the first thing on our mind was water. The house we rented has borewell water for washing etc and metro water for cooking but I wouldnt trust that for drinking.
Some of our neighbours had Kinley delivering their cans but I dont like the taste and it was a little expensive in that it cost Rs 75/- for every refill! We were considering Bisleri and some other brands that our neighbours have when we saw a flier about Aquafina.
It mentioned about their 25 litre cans costing Rs. 65/- per can and deposit of Rs 130/- for the two cans we will get initially. The dispenser came free with it. We decided to go for it because I love the taste of Aquafina... It doesnt have this artificial mineral water taste, is crisp and very sparkly. Drink it ice cold and you'll know what I mean. Thats when you get the real taste of water. And Aquafina is... YUMM!
It is a bit on the expensive side but we can afford it and we were ready to pay for clean, good water. Their cans are all clear ones and they have a What You See Is What You Drink (WYSIWYD) thing going on.
The refills are very prompt. All I have to do is call their number and mention that I want one and its there that very evening. The delivery never failed even during those rainy days last year. I had a problem with the dispenser leaking and a call to their customer service had it fixed in no time at all.
We have two cans with us, one on the dispenser and one extra can that is a back up. Since there is only the two of us one 25 litre can lasts us for 6 - 7 days. Less than 300/- a month for good drinking water is worth it in my opinion. I'd rather spend it on clean water than suffer from diseases and pay the doctor. I hate the taste of boiled water anyway!
