It's been nearly four months since I got my first iPod...iPod nano (mini).....and I enjoyed each and every day with it. I've always been a music lover and music has been my therapy, a method of relaxation and de-stressing myself. With my new iPod , gifted to me by my uncle, I started getting my therapy in a more effective way.

The mini iPod nano is a sleek, ultra small, convienient and can fit into the pocket of your tightest jeans. My first reaction on seeing it was 'oh wow, how cute'. It's actually cute. The memory size is 2GB, quite impressive for its' charming size. Way to go, nanotechnology! Though, its' price is ranged around Rs10,000, its completely worth it. It used to come in two colours, white and black, but very recently, it was introduced in many bright colours.

The best thing about the device is the music, which is obvious. Crystal clear sound, lovely effects which can be adjusted according to your choice. You can consolidate your songs into various playlists which you can make with iTunes. The scroll wheel requires just a light touch of your thumb and the other four buttons are 'Menu', 'Play', 'Fast Forward or Next Song' and 'Rewind or Previous'. It can also store photos, not much of an exciting feature, I thought at first, but later, I realised that you can access to your pics whenever required, anywhere, anytime, if the iPod is with you. You can also store contacts and notes after enabling disc use. The other features are the normal ones - clock, calender, stopwatch, games, etc., like in a mobile phone.

iTunes is essential for the working and sychronising of an iPod. You can easily download it from Apple website, or otherwise you get it in a software, which generally comes with your iPod. A data chord is also a mandatory part, again, comes with the iPod. It can be attached to your computer's USB drive. iTunes also sources the settings and maintaining playlists or for deleting songs, updating iPod content, etc. You can buy songs from iTunes music store or get it from your computer library, by running mp3's or other sources. With iTunes, you can also publish your playlist on the net or burn a disc of your favourite tracks.

iPod nano is a very conveneint mp3 player. You can shuffle songs, arrange them according to your choice if you want to listen outdoors and cannot change the track each time. A good feature if listening during a workout.

The battery is charged with the data chord when attached to a computer or to a Speaker Dock. The battery life is less though, which is a bit of let down. Another problem is that iPod nano mini attracts a lot of scratches. Only four months and my iPod is full of them, though they're not that easily recognisable, a plus point in itself. However, you can save your iPod from this disadvantage too. Easily available in market, iPod nano's covers can be used against scratches. They're in many kinds, like wrist strap-up, or a silicon cover, the best one in looks is a leatherone, sleek and modern.

Finally, I'd like to conclude that there is no doubt that iPod nano is the most suitable when it comes convenience, smart and sleek looks and rocking sound quality. This ultra-mordern, stylish little thing can make a room boom, if connected to speakers.

Long and short of the story, I'd just say, "Nano ji, tussi cha gaye".

Ridhi
