To begin with this is not a specs review since you can look up the specs on the net. This review is more from the usability perspective. Secondly, I am not an apple fan boy, however, am bowled over by the features and ease of use of this phone.
I am using the iPhone 5c Blue since the past year as my primary phone. Prior to that I was into Android, having used Nexus 5, so it was with a little bit of skepticism that I crossed the bridge to ios.
To begin with, the dimensions of the phone feels good to hold in the hand. Am not into huge phones so this one felt just right. I had no issues with the plastic body, but rather felt that the blue colour looked kind of nice - different that most of the phones that come out in wither black or white. Seriously, why can't the other manufacturers add a dash of colour to these devices.
The learning curve for ios was not steep at all. The interface is intuitive and Siri was a big help in locating the menus. For example, when I wanted to open the location settings, I fired up Siri and said'Take me to the location settings', and it opened the menu for me.
The call clarity was superb and the network latching was strong. Both the cameras in the phone deliver as promised with no noise or pixellation. There are issues with low light photography, but then none of the existing line up of phones are good in this field.
One downside is the 8 GB capacity(a bit more than 4 GB available to user), but I can live with it.
The battery lasted 1.5 days with medium usage, video watching and push emails included. Am not much into gaming on phones, so can't comment on that.
The software updates are also regular and the interface does not lag with multiple apps installed. The keyboard is good and the auto correct is spot on most of the times.
Overall, am happy with the phone. Am not a super user and not into jail breaking and stuff, and keep my engagement with the phone limited to calls, whatsapp, videos. That being said, this phone ticks all my boxes.
Verdict: A definite Go!
