I purchased an Iphone 5 through Ebay in Delhi (with Bill) and paid the entire amount by cheque. Soon the knob used for putting the phone on silent became loose and I had very embarrassing moments in the Courts where I practice, when the phone would suddenly start to ring even though it was put on silent. The customer service in Ansal Plaza refused to help even though only 3 months had elapsed since the purchase and the phone was under warranty.
They were rather curt and rude and I after great difficulty was able to get the customer center on phone. The customer center after many days got back saying that as per their records the purchase was not in India and therefore I will have to live with the problem. I spoke to the highest authority in Apple who were dismissive and out rightly arrogant. I told them that I have all evidence of purchase in India, the cheque is paid in India, the delivery is in India etc etc. I also told them that the guarantee form with the purchase nowhere mentions any of these conditions and that I have been cheated.
There was no help from them and I am saddled with a Rs 50 thousand phone which never goes on silent.
If this is the treatment Apple users are going to get..God help the company.
