It's back! Apple has re-released iOS 9.3.2 into the wild for iPad Pro owners.
Ideally, this iteration of the update won't brick your tablet when you install it. But if you happen to encounter issues, Apple also published a new support page.
The iOS 9.3.2 update originally launched on May 16, but Apple quickly pulled it for iPad Pro owners after complaints that it was bricking owners of 9.7-inch iPad Pro tablets, with no way to fix it. Owners had to go to an Apple Store and have the device replaced.
Now, if you see the dreaded "error 56" message that hit some iPad Pro owners previously, or if your iPad wants you to disconnect it or turn it off during the iOS update, Apple is ready with a few more explanations.
If you're updating wirelessly, the update might trigger some new indicators in your device that say you should power it off, wait 10 seconds, and then connect it to either your charger, a Mac, or a MacBook to proceed with the update.
If you've been trying to download and install the update via iTunes to a connected iPad, it's also possible that you might see a similar graphic that tells you to disconnect or power down your iPad, wait 10 seconds, and connect it back to your computer. After you do this, you might then get an "Unknown Error(9)" message in iTunes. It's safe to click through that and continue along with the update. And it almost goes without saying, but Apple wants you to keep your device connected to your computer until said update is finished.
