WHAT IS MAC BOOK PRO ?
Mac Book pro is the line of laptops by Apple. There are many versions of mac book pro in the market based on the year of release. I personally hava late 2011 mac book pro. Apple retains the old popular models at a cheaper price and phases out the remaining models. Currently in market you can find mac book versions in the ranging from 2011 to 2015 with its set of features and improvements.
WHICH MAC BOOK PRO TO HAVE ?
Keep in mind that you need to have a mac book pro of minimum 8GB Ram & 500 GB of disk space. Its bare mimimum needed to run a smooth system without hanging. Also keep in mind Apple is going to solder the RAMs in the mac book in newer models. So you can't upgrade the system at a latter stage. So, buy the minimum 8 GB or more with dual or quad core processor.
PRICE
Apple as a brand is successful in making the prices of its products very high in the premium category. Be ready to shell out minimum 80, 000 to 1 Lakh INR for a great system. If you want to own a mac book you have to look past the high price. At that price you will have many non apple options. So, you need to be very particular/motivated to buy the apple.
IS IT WORTH THE MONEY
From my experience of using mac book pro for last 3 years I can say its worth the price. Amazing user experience due to the operating system ( MacOsx) . The looks is just super to feel and look. Every price it looks and feels like a premium product. Its a great laptop for video, image management and editing. You will always look forward to use it as it us immensely satisfying to use.
MISNOMERS
1.Apple does not have much software. Its wrong. Apple has lots of software for any purpose just like windows. 2 . It is virus/malware free. Its Wrong. Mac books in the current scenario needs a good antivirus.
CONS OF MAC BOOK PRO
1.Collateral additional price. All the components like charger, headphone and additional USB port needed for 2015 macs ( as they have juat one single port for changing and other uses)
- Extremely High Repair Charges-The repir charges of Mac Book Pro can be very high in case of broken screen. So one needs to buy the 7000 INR to get the Apple Care Protection for 1 year. For 3 years it comes for 17, 000 plus INR. With that much amount you can buy an insurgence of 5 lakhs
PERFORMANCE
I am using Mac Book Pro late 2011 version. It was purchased for 64, 000 INR ( after student discount from a market price of 74, 000 INR) It had a RAM of 4 GB, 500 GB Disk Space. It working fine till last year when it started to slow down while using big video and image editing. My mac model allows RAM upgrade. So, I ordered 12 GB of additional RAM & now the Mac Book Pro is working lightining fast.
On the software aspect - Mac has extremly stable OS . You have wide array of software which can be used to do all the works that you use your windows for.
SHOULD YOU PURCHASE IT :
Here comes the twist, even after having, using & being extremely satisfied with Mac Book Pro am going to suggest you - NOT TO BUY IT. Am saying no to cover the customers who are not having the adequate amount and itching to some how get the laptop. My advice is don't do that. Be patient and arrange the funds in a convenient manner and then go for the purchase.
If you have adequate fund , then don't even think twice. Go for the best configuration that you can manage and just go for the awesome experience.
