I had a Hp pavillion DV1615TS, which I used for around 2 yrs..... had some issues with it. like the HDD crashed in 3 months time.... I then happened to go on a business trip to US, where I worked on mac mini... It was the first time I ever used a mac..... I found it extremely easy to use and as I work on servers... there was never sluggishness on the machine.. wht impressed me most was it never crashed on me and I hardly had to reboot after updates... unless it was anything critical and needed reboot.... unlike windows...... I always used windows all my life and heard mostly from mac users that once you use mac you never go back (to windows).. That seemed true and once I was back to india I decided to sell my hp and got the macbook.... Its the low end macbook that I got in bangalore..... It initially came with Tiger (OSX 10.4) and I was promised that I would get a free upgrade as leopard was launched just days before I bought, the only downside was I was never told by the store that there were changes incorporated into the new macbook which comes with leopard.. so I asked for a discount which I got..... there are some changes in the new macbook i.e FSB is not 800 MHz and Integrated Graphics is now a X3100 which shares upto 144MB of the main memory.... else this machine that I got is good..... Tiger was amazing and a month later leopard was delivered to me which took approx 45 mins to install and from the beginning it was a breeze to use..... unlike users who switch from XP to Vista....... they really need to Unlearn a lot and then start understanding Vista from scratch.....I hate windows honestly.... However I cannot avoid as my system at work is a windows machine....Uhhhhh.... Well battery life is too good..... not much of difference in performance compared to Tiger Vs leopard.... Just that there are so many amazing softwares avlbl for Mac that im running out of space now...... thts the only issue...... though I have a 80 GB Ipod so I dont need to bother for my docs, music etc..... I have them all backed up...... Coming to Leopard its neat and has never crashed on me either.... there are no unnecessary processes that consume memory even when they are not in use and all u need to to do remove an app from a mac is drag it to the Trash from the Applications folder...... Yes Its that easy.... And moreover for ppl who think there are compatibility issues with mac....... forget it ...... I have all kinda softwares on my sys right from Yahoo messenger to Oracle and Vmware etc etc...... So take that off ur mind and go for a mac......... It Really Rocks...... I will try to update more on the product as time goes by and I explore more....... For now Bye.... Tk Cr... Hope this article helps....... Some more Info, I thought that I shud mention the specs as well as in Old Macbook Vs the New Macbook

Old Macbook (One that I Own)                 New Macbook

FSB 667 MHz                                              800 MHz

Graphics 950 Intel GMA (64MB)             X3100 144MB

OS Tiger Leopard Proc C2D 2.0 - 2.2 GHz (Same for both)

Hi Guys..... am back with some points which I missed out and some I observed lately...

1) Lets talk about Itunes..... While playing Itunes if you receive a call on skype.... or if you try to open a video..... itunes automatically pauses the song you were playing. Itunes also has an amazing cover flow where you can see the songs, not just that when you get into Finder (Explorer in windows) you can see all files and folders the coverflow way, and you may also preview items in the finder, you can even play videos within that window (Isnt that cool).

2) When playing a video or watching a movie....... even if the screensaver settings are on... Unlike windows, Mac OSX does not activate the screensaver which i believe is an intelligent thought by apple.

3) Mac also speaks, yes u read it right, mac tells the time every 1/4, 1/2 or on hourly basis, depending on how you set it. You may also ask the mac to read any docs that u find are strain to your eyes, and it does that neatly.

4) Moving the mouse pointer to each corner of the screen has effects on the open applications, e.g.... If u move the mouse pointer to the left hand top corner all open windows are shown so you can choose to switch between them, and moving the mouse pointer to the right hand top corner shows the desktop with all apps in the background (Ctrl +D in windows), Moving to the left bottom corner shows all the widgets on the screen (Sidebar In Vista, which is always on the right side occupying space)....... You can always change these settings to ur convenience.

5) As the new Macs are Intel Based, you may also run windows on it using bootcamp....... which is now intergrated in the new mac osx 10.5 leopard.

6) Front Row now is neat and you may use it for watching videos, pictures, listen to songs etc.. Using a remote.

7) A Software can be downloaded from the internet called iAlertu, which is a free software. This can prevent anyone from using your laptop once you have engaged it. How it works???? Ok Lemme explain how it secures your mac................ It is just like a centralized car locking system........ when you engage the lock in your car and if someone tries to intrude.......... car starts buzzing and alerts you............ iAlert you does the same thing........... Once you have engaged iAlertu, and if anyone after that tries to move the laptop (Macbook has motion sensors) or tap the touchpad, or tap the keys on the notebook, iAlertu starts buzzing. And now the Best part about iAlertu, It takes pics of the person who tried to Intrude your macbook and saves the pics on the system, It does this with the Webcam on the Macbook... You can unlock the Macbook with the Remote as you Unlock you car.....

Hope this helps........ Thanks for your time
