"Think Different". Review on Apple Macbook

Apple has brought out the "Think Different" Campaign. They make great products. It is one of the few companies I trust and Sony is NOT in this list. I have been using my MacBook for 3 years now. My father had also written a review on it. You may read it up. His username is vkmps. I would like to emphasize on a few points he missed out.Lets get into it:1. Build and Quality- Most laptops have that fairly'cheap' plasticy feel. The MacBook is world's apart from PCs in terms of everything and also build and quality. The computer is enclosed in a tough, white polycarbonate shell which is lightweight as well as extremely durable and resistant to scratches. On the build quality front, Apple has used extremely well finished screws and components. Everything from the plastic moulding and the joints seem like a perfectly fitting jigsaw puzzle.2. Ergonomics- Most laptops have oddly placed trackpads and strangely positioned I/O ports. Not the case here. The MacBook has been well designed. Even though PCs and Macs share the same components, the WAY in which these components are used is clever. Really clever. The fan is placed at the back to avoid being blocked by an object like a book or an iPod which you plug in. This not only saves space, but also makes cooling faster and more efficient allowing the Mac to have a bigger fan than most other laptops. Let's move on to the sides. All the I/O and USB ports are placed in the left side of the notebook and the right side only has the optical drive. This makes the arrangement simpler and space saving. And saving space on a laptop means a thinner and lighter design. The trackpad is placed directly in the centre and is generously large for multi-touch gestures. It has only one button and the second button is taken over by an ingenious'two-finger tap' gesture on the trackpad. The iSight webcam is placed directly above the 13.3" Glossy LCD screen integrated into the bezel with a microphone hole. The monitor latches close not using a normal mechanical latch but a magnetic one. The keyboard has been designed in such a way that it does not increase the thickness of the laptop by any extent.3. Experience- When you take the laptop out from the box and open it up for the first time, what you see is the gorgeous 13.3" Glossy TFT LCD Display which is one of the brightest in the class. Switch it on, you get the elegance and beauty(and power) of Mac OS X. From the Dock, Dashboard, Finder, Expose, Time Machine, Spaces, the list is endless. Mac OS X is based on the solid UNIX platform which makes it immune to viruses. Welcome home to the world's most advanced(and secure) operating system and user interface. Welcome to Mac OS X!4. Software- Mac OS X on every new computer comes bundled with a variety of free full version software unlike PCs. Mainly, the iLife suite of lifestyle apps which allow you to edit HD movies, create DVDs, make websites and make music. iLife includes iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD, iWeb and GarageBand. With full functionality, you will never want to leave your Mac.5. Personally I feel- I have used my MacBook for creating and editing the soundtrack for an English play in our school. It's outright easy. I always use it for whatever I'm doing. Its immune to viruses. I don't have to worry about anything. Total creativity. I have only 1 problem. The battery is losing its life. Common'bug' with Li-Ion batteries.6. Summing it up- I have the 1st generation MacBook. Its beautiful, its got brains and its outright easy to use. I AM A FRUSTRATED WINDOWS USER. BSOD is all too familiar. Switch PLEASE. Macs have myths like "You can't use normal files on a Mac" and so on. But Microsoft Office is available for Mac OS X. Not only that, if you want to suicide, you CAN INSTALL Windows on a Mac. XP as well as Vista. I have been an Apple user since 4 years.
