Its really nice to hear that Apple computers are now in India Offering their laptops at reasonable rates. I got a chance to see the new 13 inch MacBook from Apple and it is one beautiful piece of art! Apple is now using aluminum enclosures on most of its MacBook models.
This makes it lighter and sturdier. Its more than just good looks. Its nice to hold too!. Minute details like the power cord enclosure and uUSB ports are well placed and look good.
Display : Remember this model comes with an LED screen. This again makes the MacBook lighter and power efficient. It also is a lot slimmer. It has amazing picture quality and low response times. The color separation is brilliant too.
Usability: The keyboard is typical Apple. They are beautiful, typing is a breeze in total darkness thanks to the illuminated keyboard. Apple uses the new touchpad on the MacBook, Its a single unit which has multiple functions. Takes time to get used to, but believe me you would love it cos it does much more than a regular trackpad. The charger goes in to the MacBook via magnetic locks, this helps incase you accidentally forget to disconnect the power supply and pull the MacBook along with the power cord. The magnetic lock would just snap off, rather than straining the cable and causing a tear.
Performance and Battery: The MacBook is configurable as ever. Apple offers a wide range of Core2Duo processors to suit you along with 2/4/8 GB DDR3 Ram as per requirements. You also get a 9400M or a 9600 GT Nvidia Graphics Card to choose from.
Battery back up is brilliant with 5-7 hours of backup depending on the model you choose. Remember these are high end laptops, this is good backup time for the performance. Apart from the regulars, you also get the dual layer DVD writer option a minimum HDD size of 320GB and WiFi Extreme. You also get to choose from Dual Boot options i.e Windows and Mac.
Cost: I am not too sure of the 13 Inch Mac. Macbooks start at a price range of appx INR 53, 000. Apple has launched the unique student discount offer which gives University students a discount. Overall its a beautiful machine, its more than just looks. Its got everything you need in a Laptop that will last you for years to come.
