I am writing this review after using this product for more than a month. I am not new to Mac OS as I have been building mackintosh for a hobby over the past 10 years. However, this is my first mac and being a big fan of Apple products, the price was irresistible in the lightning deal.
The hardware and software works seamless as any apple product would. Since the Pros of this had been discussed earlier extensively which I also agree completely, there are a few Cons that you should be wary of which could help you to make the right choice.
The screen is very reflective so there is high possibility of looking yourself on the screen rather than what is happening on the screen.
It is a very heavy product when comparing with the other products in this price range also against any other Mac book.
Since the product does not come with SSD, the boot time is extremely slow at 40~50 seconds.
Audio quality is great, but the level is too low.
You cannot do gaming or any memory intensive work as the product comes without dedicated graphics and just 4 GB of RAM.
The main attractive feature of this Macbook is the ability to upgrade. However, we would anyway have to spend minimum of 10K to upgrade. We would rather put that 10K on a Mac Air if you plan on using this for casual browsing and occasional memory intensive program because that is all the use it provides with the current configuration. This way you end up with a better mobility device in the bargain.
Please do not mistake me that I do not like the Mac, I in fact love the Mac OS and it works perfectly on this Macbook Pro too. But this model just feels outdated and unless you are willing to spend that extra few grands on upgrading, this model may not provide the premium product feel that apple products always provide.
