My mother had some minor problems in her teeth for which she went to the dentist in The Apollo Clinic. No.74/1, Bellandur Ring Road, . (Opp Bellandur Bus Stop),. Bangalore-560 037. The doctor could not fix the problem and gave her lot of antibiotics and pain killer for her toothache.
They (a dentist couple) also applied enamel coating on quiet a no. of teeth only to make the matter worse and increase her pain. After few days the doctor(lady) removed two of her teeth and again put her on heavy dose of antibiotics. The pain increased this time. We did not take any more chance and decided to go to Sagar hospital on Banerghatta road.
The dentist there said that the enamel coating was doing more damage to her existing teeth and also said that the removal of teeth was unnecessary. He was astonished to see such a huge no. of antibiotics that was given to her and that too unnecessarily. He said that the doc in Apollo didnot stitch the gum after removing the teeth and by that time it was too late to do so. As a result of which food debris was accumulating in the cavity and causing swelling and pain.
How could a doctor not know about the stitching after removal of teeth or was it deliberate? Anyway, the doctor in Sagar hospital didnot give any pain killer or antibiotics as by that time she had already consumed medicines in excess. The doctor in Sagar hospital suggested some home remedy(as the cavity could not be stiched due to delay) and my mother is doing lot better now.
He also tried to reverse the damaging effect (enamel coating) that was done to her teeth by the previous doctors(yes, the couple did that). I would advise people to refrain from being treated by the dentist (especially the lady doctor) in Apollo clinic, Bellandur. My family had on several occasions visited other departments in Apollo Clinic, Bellandur and the treatment offered was very good. We have no complain.
There was no excess medication and sometimes home-remedy and exercise were suggested(orthopadeic). Needless to say our problem was solved every other time. This review is not to malign the image of Apollo clinic but to suggest that they should review the work of the dentist appointed in that particular clinic in their best interest and to send out a word of caution if at all anybody is thinking of visiting the dentist in that clinic. Thank you.
