By far, this is the worst hospital I have ever gone to, so much so that at the end of it all, I thought I'd rather let my health take its own course of action rather than get treated at this place. An individual is most vulnerable when he/she is a patient and is trusting the body (the main part of his identity and dignity) to a stranger. Trust Apollo to make you feel most humiliated and insignificant at this vulnerable junction. They treat people like cattle and it would rather pass off as a railway station than a hospital.
They charge 200 just to have your file opened, and on top of that, consultation fee is by default, 500 Rs. Never mind that sometimes nothing significant really turns out from the so called consultation. The gyn department is even worse. Again, here is a department that you are prone to be most vulnerable at. Only a woman knows the shame and pride at stake when she has to let the most intimate parts of her body get examined by a total stranger. And the lady doctor (Dr. Kondammal) at Apollo makes sure that you feel like a complete fool at the end of it all. You could report the most serious concerns and she will look at you with with much interest as an illiterate person regards an complex algebraic equation.
On top of that, you have to wait for hours before consultation, and let me not forget the support staff. They think they are running a charity hospital on their own money and seem to be specifically instructed to treat patients and their families with disrespect. Every single support staff member here, irrespective of which department they belong to, have the same callous, lackadaisical, nonchalant attitude here. In short in Apollo, you pay through your nose for bad treatment. Please don't go to this place. Ever!
I think it is better to go to a less-known clinic where you matter rather than a famous hospital where you are a fly in a swarm and treated even worse than flies. Because at the end of the day, health is more in the mind. A positive relationship with a doctor and a good feeling about a treatment can do more wonders for the health than feeling stressed about the whole experience that only makes things worse.
