I am writing this review to benefit some people like me who are likely to go through this kind of situations I have passed through. I have met an accident damaging my knee with some Grade II tears & fractures. Initially first aid and medication from Orthopadeic near to my House kept me calm for first week but things started going worse after that.
Since Ortho I was consulting was not more serious after my MR scans, I seriously went to consult one of the Ortho in Apollo Hospital. I was actually very much impressed on the details he gave and finally I also agreed with the Doctor to go for surgery next day. Doctor decides to fit a screw to fix one small fracture inside and repair the minor tears.
As I was taking a bit longertime to convince by the Doctor for surgery, he started getting offensive slowly and scaring me if I do not go for surgery. Without wasting much time, Doctor himself got the insurance form as my Company pays for it and gave me the form to get admitted immediately. After coming out, well totally depressed due to surgery, I went to another Ortho in Jayanagar to get a second opinion on this without mentioning him about the apollo incident. Here I was also impressed by the Doctor who actually explained me different complications and decides what is really good for me.
Remember I went to his clinic at Home and he spent quite a time in examining my Knee in the bed. He instucted me on handling this injury as an educated person following his rules and giving the knee the time to required to get healed. Remember knee injuries heal very slowly and it needs real patience. Finally without any surgery after 6 weeks (4 weeks of bed rest), I am totally satisfied with the natural healing process of knee and my strong will to overcome this injury. I got a final go ahead with all my activities last week.
Remember surgery also will take the same time to heal due to nature of Knee healing process itself. Since I already had some experinces previously in these big private hospitals about the way they force surgeries with my family and freinds, I suggest the people going there to strongly and thoroughly study the case, get 2nd and 3rd opinion if necessary because the solutions offered at these hospitals may not the best one personally to you for long term. Given my case, if I would have fallen in Doctor's hand, right now I would permanently had a screw inside my Knee. I really thank God that the other method worked out well for me. Hope this helps!
