Apollo Glenagles Hospital situated near to the Salt Lake Stadium is a premium Multi specialty hospital in Kolkata. Apollo Group is one of the best leaders in health care industry of this country, hence this hospital has its own brand value and reputation.
I have had several experiences visiting to this hospital, with my father, uncle, brother in law and friends.First of all, it is really a professional health care center with most of the treatment facilities are available under one roof.
It has a top quality Day Care Center that can boosts of its excellent infrastructures and some of the top level doctors are attending to the patients coming from different parts of the city, state, neighboring states and even neighboring countries. Often, the patients can get treatments for their multiple ailments.
They have some packages for health check up which is quite popular, though the cost is always on the higher side even for a simple blood test. This might be a cause of concern for the middle class patients.
There is a maternity center with all the modern neonatal facility, but again costs are too much for a simple child delivery.They also have a good canteen service back side of the hospital where foods are simply OK, again very costly if you compare it to normal rates.
There are several street food stalls in front of the hospital premise where I saw the hospital staffs taking their lunch break. So, you can imagine the costs of the foods available inside.
Overall, it is a great place to be treated but be ready to spend more money even for simple reasons.
