*Background for choosing The Cradle
We chose Cradle for our second baby. Our first one was born in Canada. We have lived good part of our life in Canada and in Europe. We have experienced the service, infrastructure, support etc. of hospitals in the places we lived.
First visit to hospital
We saw the ad in paper and visited the hospital. My wife and myself liked the place very much. We were taken for a hospital tour which is very unique so far I have seen.
The PRO was very kind enough to explain us various aspects of the hospital etc. We were pretty much impressed. My wife decided to have the delivery in that hospital only. Since we had gone thru the cycle in Canada, we are pretty much decided at that point itself.
*Whats we liked the most
*1. Place is clean, no smell. The nurse staff are very courteous and good. Well trained with good manners and attitude.
- The hospital allowed me to be on the side of wife during the delivery. We are really insistent on that.
3. The setup is good. Infrasstructure, amenities, location is good.
*What we did NOT like
*1. The most stunning moment for all of us.
My wife had developed a situation.(Her due date was like 1 week away) So, we visited the hospital just to ensure if everything is fine. We went to hospital and the staff asked to get into a room. We are waiting for doctor or senior nurse to come and check. No one turned for almost an hour or so.
After that a doctor visited, checked my wife and she told us, that every thing is fine. You can go home. In the mean-time, we have called our Gynac explaining the situation and she told us to wait and she is on her way. By the time the our Gynac came, checked my wife and explained the situation.
The situation was really really worse and our baby will get into a distress stage if things were not properly handled. Thank God we did not go home. No idea what the resident doctor checked and no idea what was going on.
End of the day, everything was fine and we had a healthy baby and both mom and baby are doing good. Thank god for that.
2. Not ample amount of staff in the hospital. I have to explain this little more.
Around late night say 11 PM onwards, there was no one in the nursing station. In the same floor there are around 5 baby born in the same day. 2 nurse are allocated for each floor in the nursing station. We are running around other floors asking for help.
No one turned up for 1 hour or so. it was very upsetting moment.
Also, on the same night there was some emergency and all the senior nursing staff disappeared to attend the emergency. Such a huge setup, I really dont understand why so less staff.
*Conclusion
*Can similar service, setup be given by other hospitals. No idea. I have not explored it. We saw, liked and went for it. For the money we give Am I happy. Yes and NO.
