is really a hard hitting one. A real story based on the life of Mohd.Shahabuddin, MP from Bihar who was running a parallel government in Siwan District of Bihar, his main business was kidnapping.

PLOT

Ajay Shastri(Ajay Devgan) working as a salesman for a local Pharma Company, but having a dream of becoming a Police Officer. His father Prof.Raghuvansh Shastri (Mohan Agashe) who is always busy in fighting against corrupt politicians & bureaucrats. Ajay is supported well in his every move & decision by his love Megha (Bipasha Basu). In an attempt of becoming a police officer, Ajay found himself in trouble. After seeing no way left, Ajay enters the booming business of Apaharan. Later he worked for Tabrez Alam (Nana Patekar) a ruthless minority leader who runs a parallel government in the District. Ajay become a main rookie of Tabrez Alam. Will Ajay ever come out of this criminal world of Apaharan? Or will he become a successor of Tabrez Alam?……..for that u have to watch this movie on a big screen.

PERFORMANCES

Ajay Devgan……..acted brilliantly. Cheerful youth to a gang leader, Ajay shows all colors in his performance.. Movies like Bhoot, Gangajaal, Yuva and now Apaharan…….Ajay proves that he is really matured actor now and far better than those bollywood’s loverboy image actors.

Nana Patekar……..another powerful performance, the most perfect one…. He definitely is in the class of Robert De Niro & Al Paccino. Nana displayed a ruthless politician with bihari accent. Nana’s real strength is his dialogues, sometimes his silence is also effective.

Bipasha Basu………played normal bihari girl far different from her sex siren roles, also a very short role. Slim Bipasha in this movie, where is that fat one gone?

Yashpal Sharma, Mukesh Tiwari, Mohan Agashe, Ayub Khan, Mukul Naag, Chetan Pandit also done a good job.

▼ After killing Gaya Singh, Ajay was caught by Tabrez Alam & his men. Tabrez and Ajay come in front of each other, an eye to eye.

▼ Ruthless Tabrez Alam killed his nephew when he came to know about his aiding to police.

▼ Tabrez Alam slapped police inspector Anwar khan when he was trying to search in his car’s dickey.

▼ Ajay kidnapped a businessman from Kolkatta. Ajay surprised after seeing his ex-girlfriend who brought the money to rescue her husband.

Excellent job done by Prakash Jha, his earlier films like Mrutyudand, Gangajal were good, but this one is a masterpiece. With this movie, I’ll put him in the elite class of RGV & Madhur Bhandarkar.

The best realistic movie seen after Ab Tak 56. The important aspects of the movie, the story grips you till the end, no emotional scenes, movie moves point to point with a pace.
