Rock Solid ++. Review on Apharan

This is what I rate Apaharan after going to cinemahall very scared of again watching some very disappointing movie like happened with Garam Masala and Deewane Hue Pagal. In plain Apaharan is a rock solid movie with tight script, fast pace, logicially strong frames, superb direction and equally excellent performances from entire team as was seen in Gangajal. It's a must watch for all movie interested peoples.

About the movie. You know what is state of our youths? and specially when they are well educated and demand their minimal right. 85% of our country youth are unable to identify themselvs well with the youths shown in Neel 'n' Nikki, or Salam Namaste or things showing them exclusively concerned about sex and romance. To this date 75% or more youths belong to such pockets of the nation which are not even referenced in the daily mainstreams and metro culture.......which is even well evident in cricket team selection when you rarely get guys like MS Dhoni from Ranchi, Irrfan pathan from Ahmedabad, Raina frm Ghaziabad and usually find Gambhir, Nehra from Delhi, Yuvraj, Badani, Mongia from Chandigarh; Kambli, Agarkar from Mumbai, or Dravid, Sreenath, Prasad from Bangalore. What happens to the rest fo India?

Why are they neglected and when they take wrong path the same governemtn who is responsible to disowning them from their minimal rights get vomitings?

Apaharan is the story of such youths who hijack the system, who ask for the normal living and share in good life, whoa re intelligent and wish to do big works, who are as big aspirant as civil services examinations, and who are running the government on gunpoints originating from heart of Bihar spanning Nepal, UP, West Bangal, MP , Delhi, Haryana and Mumbai. This is just like any other business practice with 7 lakhs dealings per annum!

The movie shows that how the whole network works and it's much more than our imaginations where the chief ministers and home ministers are involved for their share. Marvellous movie indeed!

Plot and script is simply superb. Ajay Shastri is a civil servent aspirant appeared fro teh most prestegious examinations of UPSC as well as state service commission. He clearn the state servcie commission for police service but his name is removed from the list becuse he belongs to an upper cast. When office members tell him that even for a post of ''daroga'' he will need to pay 5 lakhs he and his friends manage the bribing money, and by chance this money is provided by some local gangster who does kidnapping. His father is highly principled well respected journalist and in highly complex political situation the list reaches his hand with all ifnormation abt the selection procedure due to which the matter goes to court and selection is cancelled. Ajay shasrti rifts away from his father, still he had to pay back the money to the gangsters who were blackmailing him to kill his father if he does nto pay back...and in this bid he attempts his first kidnapping and by bad luck he kidnaps a sales tax officer who was given shadows by the biggest name in the field of kidnapping thereafter his life take turns, and he becomes the most dreaded name even in the gallery of power and politics.

The script takes the top seat with great performance and direction that you don't get even a single moment to change your position on the seat. After a long time you find the complete hall clapping and moments and resounding cheers on frames.

Performance You can call the director the best thing that he got the best out of all including Ajay Devgan as Ajay Shastri, Nana Patekar as home minister as well as main man behind all kidnapping as well as political insecurity, Tarbaiz Alam ( in real life Shahabuddin of RJD in bihar), the earlier chief homeminister, Dierector General of Police, Sp of the city in form of brilliant Mukesh Tiwari or Yashpal Sharma as a raunchy henchman and right hand of Nana Patekar....all were excellent. They fitted very well.

Specially for Nana Patekar, this may be called his comeback in parinda like old form. well done Nana.

But Ajay Devgun again steals the show with great performance. Bipasha has nothing to do.

Direction and techies need standing ovation. Prakash Jha with Gangajal previously scoring the national award and now Apaharan is way ahead of Ram Gopal Verma. His work looks completely researched with each and every frame gripping. you can find flaws in Satya or Company or Sarkar, but this man will show you what is the exact film makign instead of hype. Show the reality but without boring for a second! simple excellent. The script was very tight and whole movie runs very fast that you don't know that it was a bit longer movie than usual. There is no song neither any was required.

Finally.....Apaharan is a realistic and true storyabout a business which has kidnappedn the government itself. It's a true story of a politician( shahabuddin) who controls the fate of even central government and is extremely manupulating and uses youth's fire and religions mispreachings.

Apaharan is different from rest fo the realistic stories in the way that it's very gripping and with very high impact. instead of feeling preachy kind it's like makeing you feel something.Every section of the movie is gut filling kind and it's total paisa vasool as well as realistic.

It would not be amazing if Prakash Jha gets his 3rd National Award in a row for any section of the movie. Go and just watch Apaharan.
