To Begin, Indian Psyche of saving Bucks is not applicable in travel packages. It is hospitality, you are not buying a Raymond Shirt for which you can haggle on many shops..Travel Agent can either Kill or make your tour. Moreover, you can never know, what services you will get as it can’t be written down on paper..All you have is itinerary and inclusions which every travel agent mention in their quotations
If u r taking Antilog services , Never compare their rates with other local websites/tour operators .Their value proposition is much much high & only comparable to Thomas Cook [at much cheaper prices].Their specuiality is acute changes as per traveler need & True opinions about hotels, plans etc
If you thought Yatra etc fall in the same category. My answer is Big NO..A similar tour plan may have things which you may not be able to examine.100 of Things like – Getting the worst Rooms , Standing in queue for Bus like group tours , Treated as piece of Garbage & just any other tourist , getting the ill prepared-non choice meals , paying room taxes at hotels feeling like an owl among 100’s of victims a.k.a Travelers misled by them etc. are the common features of these so called Big tour agencies
The mistake I made was exactly 12 months ago by booking a Srinagar tour from Yatra..It was the worst decision, I had ever made.I saved 2-3 k but never felt good or what I had expected from the trip..I knew Antilog but they quoted, I guess 2-3 k extra & we rejected their proposal.
I formally complained to Yatra management and even filed a consumer court case but nothing happened..I was told by one of their sales person “ Sir, Travel mei Sab chalta hai, hazaron log hai..mei kis kis ko dekhega..aapke jo mann mei aaye karo.”He was the same guy who sugar coated me to buy this trip & forgot so soon
A week back Andaman trip happened from Antilog. Speechless is the only word I would use to describe their services. I Call ed them at 12 midnight & they solved the issue right there. No single error at any point during the 7 day voyage. Their CEO, Abhishek, specially called me up to know whether everything was alright as I was travelling all alone.
As a retired Author living in Pune for past 30 years and travelling at an age of 70, it is difficult to cope up with the changes in society. Dis-honesty that has creeped in slowly and steadily into every sphere. Still there are good people like Abhishek & their Team at Antilog who present an glaring example of Honesty and Professionalism.
My true Blessings & Regards for them. I don’t know how many more trips, I can afford with my health but whenever I do, I would call these people first.
