Hello People!!!

This time around no random ramblings but straight and short-cut to the topic i.e.AYN RA ND'S ANTHEM.

PROS::

----------------------------------

1)The novel is differently,if not intelligently,written by Ayn Ra nd.

2)Even the unabridged version of the book appears to be very thin in comparison to the typical Ayn Ra nd types.Precisely,the dimensions of the book can be called dimensionless if its placed beside a copy of Fountain Head or Atlas Shrugged by the same author.

3)There is a clear demarcation of the psychological states between transgression and abiding by rules and that is what kept me hanging on till the end.

4)At a rate of 100 words per minute one can finish off with the book within 2 hours including minor distractions(I was trying to give my account).

5)The taxonomy of the individuals is interesting.Its like account numbers in a Swiss Bank.

6)Isn't boring because as you read on,your mind will be dwelling around certain conflicts which are pacified only by the individual-specific state of the mind.

-------------------00-------------------

CONS::

------------------------------------

1)The concept doesn't fit into the present state of the world where co-operation,co-ordination and team spirit are the arena where each individual builds his/her space rather than the 19th century concept of ''I,ME,MYSELF''.

2)The author speaks in sort of an exaggerated tone that if equality and brotherhood is to be wished for,then one must give up his own desires and goals for the sake of his fellowmen.This,in fact,is not very convincing in today's pragmatic world with a huge Information Technology field where employees are required to work together to accomplish a task.

3)The author delivers a very urging message that one should be ''egoistic''.As per my perspective,the sense of ego crops up when there is a feeling of superiority among individuals,which I feel is baseless in the broader concept because its the ''ego'' which is the root-cause of numerous societal disasters like communal riots,racism,sex discrimination etc etc.People are more concerned with boosting up their ego rather than their spirits to do something

better.Now a days we are more concerned living with the people who propose to have a status same as ours or a higher status,rather than the people who might make us feel happy.I just fail to understand what pride lies in being counted as socialites.From this context,I truly,madly and deeply from the core,mantle and the rocks of my heart do respect the TATAs and the Murthys of INFOSYS who believe in giving back to the society because its the society for which they exist.

4)The book ends with a holy word called ''EGO''.EGO is a word of quest for self-respect,and a quest for something is a proof of its lack.

-----------------------00-------------------------

Perspectives and views might differ.I would recommend this book for a read to those who desire to know vague and impractical spirituality of the very respected author Ayn Ra nd.
