I am glad to write this . I have a Friend of this university so I visited very often .Now she got placed in Good Company for good salary .I thought I could have made good cut-off to get into this institution. Head Quarters of Anna University is Anna University Chennai and other regions are Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Madurai and Tirunelveli.Anna University Chennai offers Engineering, Technology and Sciences courses .It is one of the prestigious colleges in India . Only the colleges situated in the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai and Villupuram in Tamil Nadu have been affiliated to Anna University Chennai..
It has 4 Campuses . The main campus is College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG) - Late Mr. Verghese Kurien, known as the Father of White Revolution was an alumnus from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at CEG . It is situated in southern part of the city .
The other campuses are Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet (MIT) - It was established as an autonomous technical institution in the year 1949 and due to its technical excellence (Note that Late Sir A.P.J ABDUL KALAM , the former President of INDIA has studied in Aerospace Engineering , MIT ) and to have a common governing body MIT joined as one of the colleges housed by Anna University. ,

The Anna University , which is of the affiliated type is a member of the Association of Indian Universities, the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Partner of UNESCO International Center for Engineering Education (UICEE). UGC have accredited Anna University with Five Star Status in 2002 which is the highest rating.
After 12 th Results the Engineering cut-off should be around (190 - 200 )/ 200 .Masters degree may be through TANCET / GATE /Entrance exam
Courses offered on Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. Engineering course in Geo-Informatics offered by the Institute of Remote Sensing.They are offering a course in Rubber and Plastic technology , taught at the Department of Rubber and Plastics at the Madras Institute of Technology.Even Instrumentation Engineering is available at Department of Instrumentation at MIT. The other popular courses are in Automobile Engineering , Production Engineering .The Faculties are very knowledgeble , experienced , friendly .the college offers many technical culturals & symposiums , Industrial Training , Placement Training . NRI Students also gets education from it . Even Part time courses & Distance Education Available .
Talking of placements, almost all my batch mates are placed in good companies with the good salary package.Technology giants like Google, Microsoft , IBM then IOCL , CPCL etc (The list goes on )comes for on campus interview . So it is a plus point that could be considered to take admission .
Campus is huge, beautiful and well maintained added by the mind refreshing view of lawns.Very pleasent to study outside classrooms , Provides Hostel for both Men & Women . Public Tranport is very easily accessible from this location.To have best college memories I recomment to join this . All the very best !!!!!! Have good fun in Education!!!
