Jaggudada again. Review on Angaar

This is one movie that people have forgotten,and it was released in 1990, starring Jackie Shroff one of the strongest performance ever.

It had Nana Patekar and Kadar Khan as never before in the movie. The dialogues in the movie are one of the best that I have listened. Kadar khan himself wrote the dialogues and I think the movie got an award for the dialogues also.

The movie is directed by Shashilal Nair one of jackie shroff's friend.

The movie stars= Jackie shroff, nana patekar, kadar khan, dimple kapadia, kiran kumar and om puri.

>>Kadar khan ( jahangir khan) has gotten the status of the uncrowned king of the underworld. Extortions, killings,murders and gang warfare are the second nature to him. He runs paralel judiciary system. With a flick of a telephone or one raised finger jahangir khan is able to solve more problems then the judiciary system and the law order of india. Now getting old jahangir khan has trained his sons farid and eldest son majid ( nana patekar) to takeover his seat. Kadar khan's favorite son is farid. jahangir khan hates majid's violent behavior.

>>Nanapatekar ( majid khan) is a mentally disturbed person. Majid khan has grown up with lot of pyshic complexes. Not able to complete with his father's power his cruelty develops further. HIs one man obssession is to to destroy all the slums and replace them tall towers. He will do anything to build buildings in this particular slum he has seen and wants to destroy it and build buildings on it.

>>Mazharkhan( farid khan) is the youngest brother of two and the favorite of two also. Farid khan has been trained to take over the whole crimeworld after jahangir khan retires from his seat.

>>Kirankumar ( anwar khan) The strong silent following jahangir khan everywhere he is the most trusted servant for jahangir khan. Anwar khan will do anything that jahangir khan asks him to, because he was picked up from the streets by jahangir khan ever since then he's been loyal to his boss.

>>Ompuri ( perveez) he is honest and hardwroking journalist runs his own paper and press. even though threatned by some dangerous gooons he sticks to his guts and continues to print the atrocities that has been going in the city by the underworld mafia.

>>Dimple kapdia ( mili) She comes to the city and finds shelter at jackie shroff's house because she has no where to go. She gets a job at ompuri's press because he thinks she's a honest person. She falls in love with jackie shroff lateron.

>>Jaggu ( jackie shroff) is a common man strong, passionate, honest and violent. He has become an ideal to his collegious and his friends. He is the leader of the slum he is living in. ANy problems in the slum people come to him for solutions. Jaggu is a educated man who can't find a job anywhere. He represents the generation which has come to rely on violence to solve all their problems. He belongs to the youth that believes in changing the system.

Angaar is movie worth a watch, if you haven't heard about it or not seen it I say you go and get it. The performances in the movie are mind blowing. Kadar khan as never before does a one heck of a job as jahangir khan. Nana patekar adds a another great villain performance to his movies. I am surprised he didn't get an award for this movie for a villain role. Om puri does a nice job as the journalist. Dimple kapdia does allright in the short rolegiven.

The man of the movie is jackie shroff, this is one of his finest performances ever. The way he shows his anger in the movie and beats up farid khan and kills him by just beating him with his hands. His dialogue delivery is great to watch in the end also. This was another one of successfull movies of jackie shroff.

The music is allright, my favorite is idhar dekho udhar dekho and kitni jaldi yeh mulaqat guzar jaati hai.
