The title of this review is derived from one of the monumental and landmark song of Indian cinema history featuring Amrita Arora that compares pyar tera with winter of Delhi...This song has not only inspired me to script such a novel title but also helped me to script a review on one of the Delhi restaurant around it.
A few words about this song :
Its said that the poet thinks from his heart and pens beautiful poems n songs.
A creative poet is said to be thinking with his heart as well as brains too !
A filmi poet is said to be thinking all the time with words like ishq, dhdkan,dil, sanam , chahat and pyar !
A new breed of poet who script songs only for item numbe songs think from throat and liver by using words like saiyyan, raat, andhera, satana, badan, baho me...and so many words... My song of the review belongs to these new breed of poets that are so creative to compare obscure things and make them look like... I think these poets are hired straight away from Management school's marketing streams...Think big..think creative...be different !

Tandoori bole to Anand Restaurant

For a mumbaite like me who relishes the 18 degree cent. as ahoy winter, freezing temps. at Delhi are pleasant cold blows... Walking around aimlessly on Janpath at night, crossing over the complex network of subways, haggling with the vendors is my fav timepass when I manage to land up in Delhi..
But the shopping is not the ultimate nirvana for any male specie on the earth and not for me at least... My wander lust generally pacifies after finding a nice place to find a great food place ! This time around my wanderlust took me to Anand Restaurant tucked in a small lane named Connaught Lane joining Janpath and Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Connaught Place.
Kichad me hi kamal khilta hai is absolutely apt for Anand. The lane taking us to this place is in a such horrible state that I was wondering to take the lane or skip it... but believing in jo bhi hota hai accha hi hota hai, I managed to move to that place....
This place does not have a very fancy decor inside as well as outside. I can possibly summarise Anand Restaurant in one sentence ''A decent place to have wonderful delicacies in chicken ! !
The ambience : As said earlier, this place does not offer you a fancy decor and etc etc etc... A neat arrangement of tables and chairs comforted by fans all around plus a counter to collect the money and issue bills sums the interiors of this place.
Staff :The waiters up there are well informed and very warm. I still remember the comforting smile sported by a buddha chacha while taking my order. They know what y r here for and take care to make sure that ur wishes are fulfilled.
Frequented by :The place is always frequented by wandering foodies like me coming from places outside Delhi, couples wanting to feast on the luscious chicken and a great number of firangs to taste the hawt (Hot) and spicey food of India... Need not say... I'm fida over the hawt food of Anand !
This is ultimate, the food : I will care a damm for the decor if the food is insipid and unable to satisfy me hunger... For a perfect foodie like me, what matters most is the taste, quality of the food. I think Anand was kept just like that to take care of foodies like me who come there for feasting on chicken !
Anand specialises in chicken delicacies ! Desi delicacies !They wont offer you chicken winges with honey or something fancy like chicken anguri ! The age-old murga receipes like chicken tandoori, butter chicken, chicken biryaniare the toppers on anand's menu. In fact, I seen one line painted up there saying Butter chicken is our speciality...
The boodha chacha will serve you with a plateful of green chutney and onion rings to enjoy with the main dishes and will make sure that this chutney, onion is promptly filled up all the times.
Heaps of rice soaked and spiced up by the tikha gravy and chicken leg piece sums up the chicken biryani... Mind u the kind of leg piece found in Anand's biryani will sifficiently fill up 4 biryani plates in Mumbai restaurants.
The butter chicken obviously occupies top spot in the wishlist of firangs ... With their noses watering all the times, firang chicken par toot padte hai... Its fun to watch them rubbing their noses all the times with the paper napkin !
Abhi itna batane ke baad...I need not describe the tandoori part of this... Quality and quantity puffed up together quenched my hunger for the nite ! And after relishing it, I even managed to skip my fav deserts too !
PricesDont worry... The chicken biryani costs somewhere Rs. 65 ! The other prices are also VFM !

I'm back in Mumbai now aur delhi ki woh tandoori muze abhi tadpa rahi hai, tarsa rahi hai... Pyar mera delhi ki tandoori !!!!
