Years back one of my very good friend tried to make me a member of the Amway group and one of the logic was “you know companies like HUL and ITC spend a lot on promotional activities and Amway saves a lot of amount on it and by not spending on advertisement and the same amount is distributed among the members as extra incentives”. I have met several Amway distributors who used to criticize a lot HUL and other FMCG and tried to make it one of the USP for Amway, but now is Amway not adopting the same way?
The point here is not that we must not got for promotional activities of the products but as a business practice we must not criticize others’ activities blindly and misguiding the customers. I have never used Amway products so I will not comment on the products but and keep my review in the vicinity of promotional activities adopted by the company.
Another important point is when they ask people to see the movie THE SECRET!! And ask every distributor to be positive and they can scale heights of financial freedom with “AMWAY and THE SECRET”. The secret is a fantastic piece for life and I really appreciate it but if I have to achieve everything by being positive I can do it by concentrating on any kind of business than why et al I need Amway to be a growth partner in my business and professional endeavourer? Something they want to communicate that “Become a distributor of Amway and Be Positive” and you can become Bill Gates in few days. Something like **“Fair and Lovely lagao and Miss World Ban jao” .A real ridicule!!
Another thing which is shown to the prospective Amway distributors is a video which contains the stories of successful people who are in Amway business and living a comfortable life after selling the products for years which is again nothing but just hitting the emotional part of people.
So next time when anyone ask you to become a distributor of Amway just give a rational thoughts it and please check if your pocket can afford the price of “So Expensive” products.
