What a disappointment. Review on Amul

Like most people in India, I have grown up on Amul cheese and butter; it is probably the most well-known dairy brand in the country.

A few weeks ago I decided to take a look at their website and was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer online purchase of their products via what they call their cyber-store. The minimum value of the purchase needs to be Rs 500, payable on delivery(ie cash on delivery). I happily ticked the items I wanted, entered my address and contact details and placed the order.

That was about three weeks ago; till today I have not received those items. I complained to them via the contact form on their site and then a week later I sent them an email but I have received no reply so far. This is what has surprised me so much: the complete silence on their part is something which I did not expect. I have done some online shopping over the last couple of years on various sites; sometimes delivery gets delayed or the response from the customer care department is not satisfactory. But at least they communicated with me, the customer. Amul, on the other hand, has maintained complete silence; as if I did not even exist.

My fondness for Amul products remains unchanged. But if you are thinking of making use of their cyber-store, I would strongly advise you against it.
