Not a great place . Review on Amity Business School, Delhi

Ok , so I am getting to know more and more about the MS great diversities of review , I never thought that even B-schools are reviewed.

Well I am B-school post grad from SIBM and went through the same trepidation while choosing my b-school.

General guidelines on selcting B-schools-(priority wise)

1) Placements

2) Infrastructure

3) Your preferred specilization

4) Location

5) Fees

There are many other factors on which a b-school is rated ,but believe if you are student and never been to b-school then you cant MEASURE those factors like industry interface, faculty,course curriculum etc.

Placements

This is the most important thing ever to join a b-school, please be sure and know that b-school is all about good money and good placement. If you think that you will learn a lot from a b-school then you are wrong, there is no better school then life for experience.

So if you are joining a b- school ,you are joining it only for money and good company nothing else.

Amity business school has medium to low placements, even though they show 100% placement it is just a trick, they disqualify around 20% candidates before placements and tricks like that.

If you look at recruiters list you will see whole gamut of industry. But these figures are for companies who have visited to the college till date; even 10years old companies that visited campus are listed.

Amity has had some good recruiters in past , but the best goes to FMS,MDI,IIFT and IIT delhi management school.

Placement wise I will rank Amity at 3/10

Infrastructure

Amity business school one of the best infrastructure I have ever seen, good computer labs (yes you need them a lot in b-school), ac class rooms and a good campus. But having a good infrastructure is not a prerequisite for good placement, since FMS has a placement record like anything and it’s infra is zilch.

For infra I will give abs 8/10

Your preferred specialization

If you want to specialize in marketing then amity can be an ok choice because marketing can’t be thought in class and amity will give you good field marketing projects if you are enthu enough. But for rest all specialization please find another b-schools.

Location

It plays a real important role in placements and amity has a good location, but it also has to compete with other b-schools for a pie in the placement.

It is close to a commercial centre that increases chances of good industry exposure

FEES

The second most important after placement is the money you pay in two years.

Is it worth it to pay high fee to join a b-school, it is only if the b-school has good placement record. Otherwise you will out there with a qualification that is no worth in industry.

Amities fee structure is really high they may suck around 6-7 lakhs from you and believe me you will feel guilty in the end that why did you join the school .

The fee you pay doesn’t give anything extra over other schools.

Conclusion

Please join amity if you are rich and have a family business.

If you are middle class family like me, don’t join the AbS it is not worth it . You can other wise gain some work experience and then try for a good b-school which will reap huge benefits for you in long run .The rankings are rigged only go for schools which show consistent ranking in top 15 for last 5 years
