I had ordered a few books ahead of my birthday. I received all of them except two. I checked my account on Amazon to track the package and was dismayed to see that the website showed the status as "Delivered" even though I had not received the package!
I called the customer care people and complained about it. They assured me that if I don't receive the package the following day - they would initiate a refund. The next day also I did not receive the package. I called them again and requested them to initiate the refund. They did that and I thought that's the end of the chapter.
The following day I was in for a surprise when my office receptionist told me that he had received a package for me last week and forgotten to inform me!
I immediately called Amazon and requested them to cancel the refund as I had received the books. They said they cannot revoke a refund which has been initiated so I could keep the books as a gift!:) Needless to say I cannot stop grinning since then.:) Here's the chat I had with their customer care guy:
