We went for a trip to Sri Lanka from Oct. 5-11, 2010 with our 3-year old daughter. At Kandy we stayed at Amaya hills. The road to the hotel is very bumpy, but the view from the hotel is awesome. You can actually see rain at the far end of Kandy and it moves towards the hotel. Superb.
Food is expensive but affordable. We ordered to the room for SL Rs. 1300 for three of us. Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are small. Service is good but could be better. No lifts.
Breakfast was excellent. Lot of variety especially for vegetarians.
NO entertainment for kids. No pool for kids, no indoor or outdoor games. There is a snooker table and a room full of cricket bats and t-shirts autographed by cricketers. My daughter got very bored at this hotel, except for the view from the balcony.
They have a massage centre but we dint try it.
