This year I've decided to move to AMARNATH. The trust had made it compulsory for few mandate documents. Many of the Yatri's are against this. This is keeping in view of our own safety the government of India made it mandate. The reason is such would be the criticallity involved from Balthal or Pahalgam.

HEALTH CHECK UP COMPULSORY

Please take along Two passport photographs + Application form downloaded from Trust site + Empty stomach.

  1. First we need to call the doctor [Only Selected Doctors from the list provided by the Amarnath Trust] at our nearest location.

  2. He will forward us to a agent or diagnostics care center representative.

  3. Here we'll need to get Master Health Check up. [This way few people can know some internal activities within our body :) I personally saw many people shocked at their Glucose numbers]

  4. Upon arrival of test reports. They will review and let the Doctor from the above list let know if we're really fit and healthy enough to conduct this trip.

  5. If they are any suggestions he will guide us to / if they are any further tests to be done he will let us know. If minor complaints he will prescribe medicines.

  6. If all the above credential meet. The doctor will sign and stamp. They've charged 2500/- for the complete test inclusive of consultation charges. We've to spare a complete day for this.

REGISTRATION

Please take along 2 passport + 4 Stamp sized Photographs [If you don't have a nationalized bank account in running state] + 1000/- for opening a bank account with PNB. + 30/- for confirming ticket for Amarnath Yatra.

  1. We've to take the final report with doctor signature and stamp to the mentioned list of banks. [Mostly it will be J&K Bank or Punjab National Bank. Few post offices across India also offer these services]

  2. Here @ bank they will ask us to either open a bank account (Not necessary if we've already using a nationalized bank account in running state) Rs.1000/- for opening an account in Punjab National Bank. They are helpful and will get the things be done faster for us. For opening this account please take along you PAN card photocopied.

  3. Now they will issue a form on which we've to affix the 4 STAMP sized photographs.

  4. They will now ask us to pay 30/- for registration.

IT's DONE > We're with the registration card. Finally..Ha

Bank card /cheque book and other collectives can be sent or received at the bank front.

One advantage in-spite of testing patience and money..is we get to see others registered for the same AMARNATH YATRA through out. If we are limited in a group or alone we can mix with them and plan our trip accordingly.

My review is subjective. As I heard few places approve without getting medical tests done and less bank formalities. If we do or go in that we way we'll be tensed of getting caught at any point of the Yatra.

I will post the Yatra experiences soon...
