There is a very special message to ''Amar Akbar Anthony''.At the cost of sounding politically incorrect let me state that the message is that all indians are hindus.Whatever religion one may adopt in a crisis, in the end all indians are hindus.
The story runs like this.A poor driver has three sons.The driver's loyalty to his employer causes him to go to jail.The three boys are thus separated and grow up to be Amar Akbar and Anthony.Stereotypes again work here.Amar gets into the police.Akbar is a Qawwal who romances a doctor!Anthony is the archetypal catholic tipsy type trying to prove the message of the song from ''Majboor'',''Michael daroo pike danga karta hai'.
The film like all Manmohan Desai films is lostnfound and romance.The best romance track is between Amitabh and Parveen Babi.Rishi-Neetu are good and so are Vinod Khanna and Shabana.The music adds to the appeal.
Very Watchable.
