Ally McBeal is another feather in David Kelly's cap. Ally McBeal, a touching series about a woman lawyer, searching for a soul-mate. Billy, her childhood sweetheart and colleague at the law firm, gives her the first big blow when he gets married to Georgia, another lawyer friend. Ally never quite gets out of the heartbreak, but tries to move on. John Cage, her colleague and good friend, has a special liking for her. Richard Fish, the 'boss' of the law firm, makes us laugh and roll eyes with his sexist remarks and actions.
The most remarkable thing about this serial is the care given minute details. The animated sub-conscious actions, makes it humourous and lively.
It also throws light on the American law system, lawyers, law firms and court rooms. Its quite fascinating to watch how the serial is a good blend of romance, action and dialogues.
Another striking character is Vonda Shepherd, the bar-room singer. She has an amazing voice and the songs are heart-wrenching. Melancholic and melodious, the songs compliments the mood of the scenes.
A serial worth watching when you feel lone.
