Hello friends! Today I want to share about my birth place Allahabad. It also called Sangam Nagri and Prayag.
This tourist place have lots of things to visit. Some of them are Allahabad Museum, Alfred Park, Company Bagh, Khusro Bagh, Children Park, Sangam, Akbar Fort, etc.
In Sangam, the Maha Kumbh Mela occurs every 12 years. Ardh Kumbh Mela on every 6 years.
There is a story behind kumbh mela. Thousand years ago, God& Devil does Samudra Manthan. There are lots of things come out from it. When Amrit comes then one of the Devil snatched it from the hands of God and ran away. Gods also run behind him to bring it back. During running, the few drops of Amrit falls down to earth at few places named Nasik, Ujjain, Haridwar and Allahabad. So, thats why at all these places kumbh mela is celebrated since then. At night, the lights in mela attract lots of tourists comes from all around the world. Interestingly, the Siberian birds are travel to Allahabad by covering a huge distance. There is Akbar Fort where an old banyan tree is present which is more than 100 years ago remains here at the time of Akbar rule.
At Alfred Park, the freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad was shoot himself for not being caught by the British. At that time he was surrounded by the British on all around. He fights till last bullet was left in his gun. He doesn't want to caught by them alive. So, that brave man decided to shoot himself. Thats why this park is also called Chandra Shekhar Azad Park.
Allahabad University is also very famous. Different courses are being educated here.
In Company Bagh, the flowers exhibition organised every year. The lots of beautiful flowers of different varieties are shown here.
At Allahabad Museum, the iron guard, sword, crown, etc. are being kept here at the time of British rule.
Now, people love to visit malls like Big Bazar, PVR, Westside, etc. situated in Civil Lines for shopping.
For shopping, Katra, Kotha Parcha, Chowk, Civil Lines, etc. are the cheaper places to visit.
Near Allahabad University, the birth place of Sh. Jawaharlal Nehru, Anand Bhawan is situated where the things that used by him, his lifestyle, meeting hall, library hall, Mahatma Gandhi's Charkha, etc. are exhibited for the public interest. Nehru Planetarium is also there in which different shows about the universe, stars, planets, sun, galaxies are shown for the public.
