After reading a lot about my tooth pain, root canal treatments and specialized doctors on the internet, I finally settled for this place.
Though I stay very far from this place (Electronic City to Shankar Matt, Near Lalbagh Southend circle), one thing that attracted me towards this place was the international reputation of Mr. Trivikram Rao. And, thankfully, he has not disappointed me.
Going into the finer details, I faced strange incidents during my first visit itself. The assistant at the clinic examined my teeth, told me the problems (root canal for the tooth pain, cleaning etc), prescribed me the tablet and fixed an appointment for my next visit (to start the treatment).
Even experts can't come to a conclusion after a rapid check-up. This female feels as if she is the doctor out there. I insisted that I need to see the doctor and this remark of mine disturbed her and she felt as if I am taking a second opinion from other doctor! Lol..Finally, I met with Dr. Shruti (W/o Dr. Trivikram) and had a discussion with her and confirmed the appointment.
The good experiences were in the form of treatment from both Dr. Trivikram and Dr. Shruti, detailed explanation of problems and solutions. Indeed, the whole root canal treatment (for two teeth) had been a pain-free experience.
The other part is in terms of confirming the appointments a day in advance. This helped me in case I forget the timings or the date. If you think it has been professional till now, well, not so.. My biggest problem with them is honoring the appointments.
I can understand if there are too many patients because of which an appointment might be delayed or the doctor(s) stay away from the clinic and hence they might loose out time commuting. Well, its no both reasons but still you will be made to wait, for reasons unknown.
For me, who come from a far off distance, the wastage of time adds to much inconvenience. Nobody knows the value of time better than a doctor. Hopefully, they make amendments out here. Second problem is with the nurse/assistant, whatever you might refer her as (apart from calling her a doctor or a practitioner).
On one occasion, she went to the extent of starting root canal treatment as the doctor was not available at my appointment time! Only after shouting at her, did she retreated. And, surprisingly, Dr. Trivikram asked me why I was not ready to get the treatment from her..
Lol..Then they can add her name also as a doctor in all their promotional activities. And, the doctors have given her so much of leeway that she feels she is running the clinic. Hmmm.. For a moment, I lost all the act for the clinic and conveyed the same to Dr. Shruti.
She apologized and said that she will take care it doesn't get repeated. And, the final part, which some of you might be looking for.. The cost of treatment for root canal. I browsed a lot to get a comparative analysis but could not find. I paid close to 11k for root canal/ teeth.
The breakup- 500 for registration, 3000 for doc fees, 7500 for teeth cap (I hope I got the word right). There are various ranges of teeth cap starting from 2500.. That's optional. I am not sure if this is on a higher side or not as I already mentioned, I don't have the rates for other hospitals.
Finally, coming to recommendation, partly yes and partly no. For every appointment, insist that you want to be attended by either one of the doctors. Remember, you are paying for their services and do not want to be treated by a third person who is not as equally qualified as the doctors themselves.
Try to book your appointments (on any day) only during the first half. My experience with the second-ha;f appointments has been very bad with lot of waiting (again, not due to rush hour but mainly that the doctor is not available).
And, when it comes to appointment for Saturdays, be 100% sure that the doctor is available. Avoid Saturday second-half appointments, as they are better-off ignored.
