Let us be honest enough to think about those who live in far-flung areas of our country, where there is no bijli i.e. electricity and those soldiers manning our frontiers. There only window to outside world has been the RADIO. But one must rue the government policy of running this organisation just like any other government organisation. The impetus, innovativeness and an aesthetic sense required to run a Radio station, particularly in these times when there are private players all around, is missing from the bureaucratic set up.
This is a fact that in big cities and metros, radio is a poor cousin. Only programmes heard on radio are 'morning and evening news', and FM programs. But entry of private players in FM arena must be taken notice of, by the big bosses at All India Radio. Let us not be complacent on account of big claims like vast reach/ infrastructure etc.
