NOTE: Update 12/13/07 I have been forced to update my previous reviews due to an allergy I have developed. Due to this allergy, I have been forced to switch to detergents that contain no fragrance or dyes. Now here is the weird thing, and it is not the only laundry detergent this has happened with. The Free and Clear actually works better than the scented.
I noticed more stains came out and the clothes looked and smelled much cleaner than with other All detergents. I have tried the Small and Mighty and the Regular liquids and both worked great. One added benefit is it's allergy fighters and they definitely work. I noticed results within a day. No more itchies and I can breathe better too. I am still concerned about what the brighteners in this may do to my darks, but right now for me, physical comfort is more important than fading dark colors. As in another updated post I made reguarding another laundry detergent, I can only assume the free and clear works better due to the fact there is no fragrance to mask odors, therefore the cleaners must be imporved to actually clean well to remove them. At least this is my theory. Anyway, this is a wonderful detergent and I recommend it.
(Old Review based on scented versions below)
I tried All liquid and the All Small and Mighty liquid in a quest to find a more reasonbly priced laundry detergent. They left me disappointed to say the least. I do not know what these alleged stainfighters they use are but they did quite poorly on my families stains even with pre treating. On top of that, the smell of the regular version didn't smell all that great to me. It also has brighteners which can fade darker clothing. All of the All versions have brighteners which means you would need to buy another laundry detergent anyway for your darks. If that's the case your better off just buying a high end detergent for tough stuff and a cheapo for your darks and refreshing loads.
One advantage is, if you do not have tough stains or a lot of dark loads and prefer something easy to carry then the Small and Mighty may work for you.
