Alfred Hitchcock was one of the best ''Masters of Suspense'' ever to release a movie. His stories were not replete with gore as are many of the movies today. For instance ''Rear Window'' was a fascinating study and insight into the mind of a man who had murdered his wife and removed her body piece by piece which in itself may sound like blood and gore.
However there was no blood in the movie. The movie did not concentrate on the murder but on the observations of Jimmy Stewart who analyzed what he saw from the rear window of his apartment which gave him a complete view of the murderer and his actions. By the end of the movie Stewart had solved a murder that no one had seen.
Every movie by Alfred Hitchcock kept me on the edge of my seat. However none could be compared to the horror flicks of this day. The stories were not based on the supernatural. Alfred Hitchcock was truly the consummate ''Master of Suspense''.
