Akshardham Temple is the biggest Swaminarayan temple in Gujarat and very attractive too.
The entire complex is of 23 acres and at the center lies the Akshardham mandir built from 6, 000 metric tons of pink sandstone from Rajasthan making it one of the best temple of gujarat. I visited here last month and I was mesmerised by its peaceful environment. the greenery and the fountains further enriches the scene. There is a huge idol of shree swaminarayan in it. further there is a museum too. many paintings of shree swaminarayans life incidence gives us a glimpse of their life. the carving made on the wall is also an another marvel. the complex also includes an amusement park with additional facilities of book store, canteen, dvd store, clothes store, laser light show, etc thus making it enjoyable to both youngsters as well as senior citizens.
