Akshardham is one of the biggest and famous temple in east delhi. It is made in tribute to god Swaminarayan. He was one who devoted his life to poor and disables.
This temple has easy access by auto, taxi, own vehicle but the best out it is the metro. You have metro access in almost every area of delhi, from where you have yo board for akshardham metro station, from where the temple is just 5 mins away.
Entry fee is zero so anybody can vist temple. You will have to pass through strict security system.As you enter the temple you will see many painting pictures of God Swaminarayan and on humanism.
Then you can visit temple. Temple is big tomb type and have idols of god swaminarayn and many more. You hae easy facility for shoe keeping.
After visiting temple they have a entertaining part , for which there is a ticket, for knowing more about god Swaminarayan. There is a big queue sustem, but you don have to stand for long time, they have sitting arrangements in queue as well.
Ticket consists of the Exhibition show with well sitting and standing arrangements. After that you have a movie show for 45 mins, which is worth watching. it is very big audi for movie. After 45 mins movie show you have to rush for nauka vihar (boating), which passes from one exhibition to other, wonderful. After nauka vihar then you comes out and last but not the least you have fountain show, that starts in dark, that is after 7. Different fountains streaks with music and different light patterns is somthing you cannot miss.
They have a very big food court also and everything is available. South indian, north indian, chinese etc.It is very good place to hangout with all the facilities like proper washrooms, well sitting and standing arrangements, good food court.
