Its All about the seduction,scandals and STUPIDITY. Review on Aksar

Aha…so bollywood bestows upon us yet another member of the ‘Murder’ Family…!

Ok..put in a single sentence… someone REALLY wanted to make a good film and he blended ‘mystery’,’love’,’hatered’,’fear’
; AND followed the ‘sex sells’ mania , and brewed some Black tea!

What I mean is… the film turned out to be way below the ‘thriller’ mark.

Especially when one’s watched a very superior film like Rang De Basanti,this just feels like a waste of effort. I don’t mean to be cruel,after all what does a mere student know about making films, but the director Anant Mahadevan should have used the money to build a nursing home!!!

The plot:

We have here a talented photographer (Emran Hashmi) who’s one entire collection is bought by a rich NRI (Dino..and Wow he is!),on the condition that Emran Dino ki biwi (Udita Goswami) ko apne pyaar ke jaal mein phasa de,so that she divorces him!

Emran and Udita have a brief history- He had an affair with her best friend (Tara Sharma),like he does with all his models, so that REALLY pisses her off! So Dino’s offer manages to entice Emran as Emran does to Udita finally!

Suddenly Dino’s ‘My Better half is having an AFFAIR!!!’ paranoia surfaces and he does all he can to do away with Mr. Casanova Emran…!

One night Emran is found brutally slaughtered in the basement!! Now who did that??? The rather lame plot unravels to answer this milliondollar question!

And if you’ve seen it you’d probably have noticed how certain things just seem to have been pushed into the story JUST to save it, Just to complete the film like the camera in the basement…come-on SOMETHING better could have been conjured up?!

The Characters:

Emran Hashmi : He plays the same role…over and over and over again and once more! I guess he’s been typecasted ! I Can’t decide if he’s good or bad as an Actor unless he plays SOMEthing else!! But I guess what he did…he did okay!

Udita Goswami : I think she actually acted pretty well as a mad freak who throws vases at people, considering the has zero experience…but she was made to look GAWSH awful in the film…NOT her fault! I mean she’s fit, slim and petite, but then who in Bollywood isn’t today?! Her make up Sucked! It failed to conceal her facial irregularities! They could have made her look much much better!

Dino: His acting was alright,not bad not great. But his look is really good! He has a certain enigma about him in the film…! I think he was the only right choice! He’s never played something like this before (at least what I’ve seen of him)…all those young boyish characteristics are out…Mature is IN!

The Music:

OK….ONE good thing about the film. Leaving aside Himesh Reshamiya’s very prominent nasal SOUNDS that are supposed to be passed off as MUSIC,the film does have some very catchy tracks,two of them being the very melodious ‘Soniye’and the foot-tapping ‘Lagi Lagi’.

Well don’t watch the film….just listen to the music.
