I had bought the Aiwa 219 TV set in July 2000 from Hiro Music House, P. M. Road Fort. It had costed about 12.9k which I found too good for the features this model had to offer. Well, 209 stations, 2 AV stereo inputs, NTSC & PAL systems supported, what more can one ask for at this price!!!
The picture quality is quite good, the sound quality could be better, at low volume the speech sounds a bit muffled. The tuner section is pretty accurate, there is a tendency of channel drift in the UHF tuning mode, but that also depends on the signal strength of one's cable service provider.
The AV inputs support DVD/VCD/VHS or any other audio/video source.
In the picture settings, there are 4 presets, i.e. Normal: for general viewing, Cinema: for watching Movies, Game: to connect a video game and play; and finally the Dimmer mode: this allows you to watch TV in low lit rooms or dark rooms, this mode puts the least stress on to your eyes.
After switching off the set, there is a creaking intermittent sound, which really is the contraction of the cabinet while its cooling down.
I am very happy for what I have, recently I had to replace the remote control, I got one from Lamington Road: Parasmani Electronics, for Rs. 250/-...fair enough.
