I like Aishwarya. I think that she's very beautiful - there I said it - the one thing the majority of her fans say when asked why they like her.
She's very beautiful, but so what? Aren't most Bollywood actresses beautiful? What makes a one-time beauty queen (11 years ago) more beautiful than a country filled with beautiful women?
Many of her fans say her looks are unique - I have to disagree with this statement - there are at least two actresses in Bollywood who closely resemble and if I may say, are prettier than Ash. One being Dia Mirza, a former Miss Asia-Pacific who acted in Parineeta and Sneha Ullal who caused a stir when she acted alongside Ash's ex, Salman Khan in Lucky - No Time for Love. However, it amazes me that these two belles aren't nearly as famous as Aishwarya or not even considered as beautiful. (Some Ash fans will deny that they even resemble her.)
The reason why Aishwarya is so popular is put down to the fact that she has a very good business manager as well as a PR team who makes sure that the desired image is projected. I seriously doubt that Ash would have still been as popular had she married Salman.
The reason why she's gaining exposure in Hollywood? She has a publicist in America who gets her on talk shows and magazine covers. As for talent, well that's not really important if you look like Aishwarya Rai...
