The cast of the movie has done a great job, in keeping the viewer from leaving the movie at the interval. I left five minutes after the interval. I would recommend the movie, solely for Abhay Deol's acting. The three Deol brothers are very talented actors. Abhay Deol has come a very long way, from his first movie. He has acted in a manner which is polished, in a way different to what he normally is like. Ms Dubey, who acted as Pinky Bose, is another extremely talented actor. Ms Sonam Kapoor is a great, great personality. And, the rest of the cast have given a commendable, no praiseworthy performance. The reason why the film ultimately is boring, is because the story of 'Emma', by the well known writer Ms Bronte, was not meant to be made into a Hindi movie. All great books, are not tailor made to be great film scripts.
I would not read the book, more than once, and watching the movie, was like reading the book, more than once, since I had gone through the story. If you have not read the book, by all means, see the film. I personally would loose interest in the book, after watching the movie, 'Aisha'. The book has as it's charm, a more serious note than the movie. The book is a serious, gentle portrayal of the life of an upper class young woman in England.
The tone of the book is not meant to be the exhibition of the life of the gentry in England, as the movie is of the rich of New Delhi. There is very little to celebrate in the movie, because all 'Aisha', and her friends do, is to find ways to spend money.
