I had no interest in opening an airtel payments bank account but the executives in the airtel office had opened my account without my permision when I went there with the issue of airtel message centre, which they fixed and opened my account saying that they are linking my mobile number with my aadhar number.
After that I went from there and when I read the message it showed that they needed otp to open airtel payments bank account.
Then I download the app and the app asked mpin to open account which they have not provided me, so travelling back 10 km I went to airtel office just to collect the mpin.
The account was good because the account number is our phone number which we will never forget, and also they claim to give 7.5% interest which is almost double than other banks.
Their concept is good of providing bank account without any paper works but the way they did it was not good, they should ask customers that wheather they need account or not before opening.
Layout and design is also good the transaction is fast but it does not have any micr code so it may not be possible to transact amount in many online platforms.
Feature and function is fine but comparitively it is easy to open account and manage it but cant be fully trusted on it, because it has no debit card it can only be operated online, so payment can be done online only if any emergency comes where online payment is not possible then amount in this bank will be of no use for that particular time.
Talking about usefullness it is usefull in many ways like online transaction and high interest, but what to do if urgent cash is required which is not possible in this bank account to withdraw money as cash in hand.
