Given below is an unaduleterated account of an airtel customer.


He hasnt shifted cos , solely because, like countless others ,


the number has been circulated.


Sep - Nov 2005


up to now, I had a prepaid connection. was converted to postpaid in Sep 2005.


the airtel personnel was clearly told ' this would be in my name', though a part of my office - Closed User Group.


No bills came. Everytine I asked, I would get a reply- its been sent.


It continued for 3 months. I paid my bills based on SMS alerts. airtel guy came and gave the receipt - in my name , sometimes in company name.


we were assured- this will be corrected.


Dec 2005


i ask for a itemized bill - I am promised but nothing happens.


Name not connected yet.


31, dec 2005 onwards.....


i wanted a broad band connection. the guy said since I had a airtel mobile I need to give the bill.then started the fun.


airtel bill was in the name of company. hence unacceptable to the broad band guys. spoke to the mobile guys. First they put the blame on me. then on the airtel mobile guy who was in charge (and had quit.) then came back after 3 days. then asked for rs. 500 to change. I said no, took another 3 days and said then said they would change it in 4 days time. after 4 days am told that it will happen after one month.


in a nutshell, I changed yo postpaid, applications duly filled up. butdue to a mistake on aitel u had given this in co, name.


even so, WHY cant anyone give clear cut details on when t eh job will be


done? either ' I am from sales' or ' I am from billing' kind of excuses or a


total apathy towards the entire customer problems. customer care guys who cannot even handle queries are sent. - but these guys cannot even converse...!


u want names? Shiva kumar k. a customer care officer flexione consultants, chennai is but one such an example...


couple of questions to airtel:


are u guys for real?


u make a mistake, and dont even speed up remedial process.?


u promise the earth. then don't bother to call back.


u commit dates. then sleep on it.


u don't know basic procedures then blame each other.


u give 'contact us' ids on web sites but dont respond.


...now will I get a SOLUTION TO THIS? not till now, for 2 months.


each time I call, I have one customer care guy sitting there asking me the same silly , condescending questions and wasting my time, without even going through what my complaint is . this evena fter quoting my complaint ref nos.


if someone speaks with me , lets have who have some element of professionalism.


add to this, network complaints inside my house. line keeps breaking off.


also, I had asked for GPRS to be discontinuted...but they didnt and billed extra. I am just waiting for the scenario where u have a 'permanent no' taht allwos u to go across servie providers. until then I have to just stop at 'expressing myself' about airtel.
