Airtel in its constant endeavor to delight its customers launched the Automated Voice Response system. Another feather in Airtel’s cap…if that’s what you think, boy you are dreaming…


This is one of the best plans to loot the customer…Let me share my experience or rather horror story. Come May 1, Airtel , without even informing its customer activated the automatic voice response system. What does it do?? If you call me on my mobile and I don’t answer within 5 rings…it takes you to a automated voice system where u can leave a message, sounds good….see the facts…




  1. Airtel’s system sometime connects to the voice response in 1 ring…so you end up paying for it (new tariff form lan line is 2.40 / minute)




  2. If I say I don’t want the facility, they take 48 – 76 hours to deactivate it…Customer service eh?






Practical problems:


Imagine you are driving, and u r mobile rings…for u to stop the vehicle and pick the mobile will take atleast 6 – 7 rings…but sorry now u cant….bcos airtel takes over the all, the caller ends up paying 2.40 per minute nad he doesn’t have talk to YOU…IMAGINE IF ITS AN CALL FROM DUBAI OR US….


My dad had a medical emergency and he had called me…I was driving at that time…and the stupid voice system picked it ( I had placed a deactivation request 3 days back)…he didn’t have the time call me again….i thought it was a routine call and went home 2 hrs late and came to know that my mom was undergoing a surgery….


IS THIS WHAT U BUY U R MOBILE FOR?


ISN’T BEING REACHABLE ALWAYS THE MANTRA FOR MOBILE?


Airtel should have launched the service and should have said “customer who wants to avail pls call us and activate it”…but they didn’t why?


Airtel has 1,00,000 customer in Chennai alone…lets everyone falls prey for this plan once…what’s airtel profit? 100000* 2.40 (2.40 per call on prepaid) that is Rs 24,00,000 (24 lakhs for one call)


till now I ahve lost 50 rs bcos of this service (that is call my friend, he doenst pick up, and the voice system comes online and I get debited 2.40 rs)...most of my friends didnt know of this and all of them have deactivated it now....


Imagine the money aritel has made out of this so called customer service….
