I bought Airtel service for my new mobile Samsung M30s. The pack was for Rs 495 with unlimited local+STD+National Roam Calls, & 1.4GB data/day for 84 days. I selected Airtel due to its wide network & connectivity. For the first few days after taking connection I didn't get any calls or SMS. Niether could I access the internet, always got the message'Page cannot be displayed'. Contacted customer service & was told that it is a network issue in my area.
Went back to the shop which recommended me but to my surprise there it was working fine. The same airtel tower covers the shop & my apartment but the internet works fine in the shop but not at my home. Not only that the frequency of call drops is also quite high.
I happened to travel to Chennai last week. After automatic registration process the network took more than a day to connect. The data transfer speed is also quite slow even at places where the network is strong. Internet speed is supposed to be 4G but actual speed experienced is 2G.
I could hardly use my new phone due to the erratic network.Now the 84 day is period over without much use. Total loss of money. The charges are also on the higher side compared with other networks. I have decided not to recharge with Airtel but switch to better networks like IDEA(Vodafone), Jio etc. which perform much better.
